New Frontier Bison is a family owed and operated business.  We started in the bison business in 1992. My wife and I had the wonderful opportunity to work for Edgar Bronfman, the owner of Seagram’s, Georgetown Farm and Buffalo Hill.  At Georgetown, we started out processing one bison weekly. Within a year’s time, we had increased production to eight to ten weekly. We saw the potential growth in natural, never-ever (antibiotics and/or steroids) and lean protein in the retail and restaurant arena.  In 1997, we decided to build an abattoir here in Madison, VA. This gave us the ability to become totally vertically integrated.

In the year 2001, we took on the business, and New Frontier Bison was born.  Through the last 20 years, the bison industry has grown in both sales on market share of the center of the plate entrees.  At New Frontier Bison, we have developed a relationship with the best producers, providing consistent bison products that are raised free of antibiotics and/or added hormones and steroids.

Our vision is to provide the best and healthiest bison that you can feed your family. The past three decades have seen tremendous growth, and we at New Frontier Bison are looking forward to seeing what the next three decades bring.
